As executive director of the Center for Energy Efficiency and Sustainability, Scott Tew leads a global group of experts dedicated to integrating best practices for the long-term use of energy and other resources. His team shapes the future of energy efficiency and sustainability for Ingersoll Rand and the industry, and supports the Ingersoll Rand mission to become the world leader in creating and sustaining safe, comfortable and efficient environments. The Center for Energy Efficiency and Sustainability supports all Ingersoll Rand businesses and brands and is responsible for forward-looking green initiatives including product and service innovation, operational excellence, education, engagement, product standards and advocacy. In his 6 years with the company, Scott has served in senior positions in government and public affairs, responsible for government relations, community engagement and industry trade relations. Scott has led high profile programs to advocate for energy efficiency, green buildings and greenhouse gas emissions standards and policies. He has served as a core member of the company’s sustainability strategy council since its inception. Earlier, Scott held public affairs and environmental management positions at Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Ciba Specialty Chemicals; and has lived around the world managing global projects. He has graduate and undergraduate degrees in environmental science and ecology from Livingston University. Scott plays key roles in several related advocacy groups including: the Alliance to Save Energy; the Center for Energy, Development and the Global Environment at Duke University; the Innovators Working Group for Esty Environmental Partners; and the US and India Green Building Councils.
